In Jesolo a market is held every Friday from early morning till 1pm or so, in Piazzale Kennedy, which is located in Jesolo Paese. The Aquarium and Reptilarium are located in the Palazzo del Turismo in Jesolo and contain an exhibition over 500 metres long, with a wealth of extremely rare tropical animals from all over the world: 24 aquariums house 250 fresh and saltwater fish, there are 15 water terrariums with various species of very rare marine turtles and 10 terrariums with land tortoises of various sizes. The “Shark Expo” is an exhibition that gives everyone the chance to admire 60 sharks from 24 different species, gathered together for the first time in a single, special shark exhibition, with twenty-five tanks of various sizes. The Jesolo Rowing club sports association organises exciting Venetian-style rowing competitions in occasion of celebrations and traditional fairs in Jesolo, Venice or in other places on dry land,. Together with the famous Sensa, Redentore and Madonna della Salute celebrations, many other events are also organised to perpetuate the memory of an event linked to the life of the area, as well as the bygone glories of the Venetian Republic. The main vessels is obviously the gondola, but there are also other traditional crafts like the sandolo and sandolino, the mascareta, the caorlina, the pupparino, the gondolino, the veneta and the batela. These are the most popular boats in Venetian rowing – all are rigorously crafted in wood and have a flat bottom in order to easily sail the lagoon, even in just a few centimetres of water.
